Sometimes grief needs motion. Sometimes it also needs company. As a therapist with Grounded Grief, Tisha Washington, MSW, LMSW brings a deep love for nature and a steady presence to hold what arises. We'll meet the season as we meet ourselves — just as it is and just as we are. Layers encouraged.
Each walk includes introductions, grounding exercises, readings, easeful walking, and communal sharing. There is no requirement to talk at any time.
Frequently asked questions
What is the suggested donation?
We suggest $20-$50. The cost to run this group is $30–$55 per person per session. This offering is given to the community to build connection and space for grief. Any amount you can donate is deeply appreciated.
How do I know if this group is for me?
If you enjoy being outside, want connection, or feel alone in your grief — this group is for you. All types of loss are welcome: the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, grief about the state of the world. No loss is too small or too large.
Is there a step after registering?
Yes. Each participant schedules a brief one-time 5-minute phone call with Tisha after registering. This ensures everyone is fully informed and any questions are answered before joining.
Do I need to be physically fit to participate?
No. The group adjusts to the pace of its members. Please note the trail is unpaved, uneven, and has roots and rocks.
What should I wear and bring?
Dress in layers and check the forecast. Don't forget mittens, a hat, and warm socks if it's cold. Running shoes work well; waterproof shoes or rain boots are more comfortable if it's been wet. Bring a small water bottle if you tend to get thirsty.
Parking and meeting point
Ample free parking is available near the basketball courts, tennis courts, and playground. We will gather and meet in front of the tennis courts.
