ABOUT ME
I’ve always been drawn to and seen the beauty in what others might consider the “darker” parts of life. I’m interested in knowing people in their totality—including their rough edges, rawness, joy, and strength.
I am a licensed clinical social worker and have been practicing for the past seven years. I started my career in social work as a clinician in community mental health, working with high-risk crisis clients in Vancouver, Washington. After two years, I became a supervisor, guiding four wraparound teams in interventions to serve families and clients with compassion, out-of-the-box thinking, and humor.
Prior to social work, I taught high school English in the public school system in South Central Los Angeles for six years. I love integrating elements of education, learning, and creativity into my sessions. In my therapeutic work, I incorporate self-compassion, mindfulness, somatic experiencing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I am also a huge fan of exploring existential themes, spirituality, shadow work, and the Enneagram for clients who are interested in that side of the work.
WHAT KEEPS ME GROUNDED
During my free time, I love to practice my ukulele, write songs and creative nonfiction, act, and storytell. I live with my husband and our daughter; becoming a parent has been a wildly difficult and healing experience.
