About the Event

Rewritten: A grief-literate community for single and solo parents.

Grief doesn't end because parenthood continues. When your family story changes — through divorce, separation, death, or circumstances beyond your control — the loss is real and we feel it daily. These are the losses and the longings of parenting inside a story you never imagined need space. They need witness. They need a village.

Rewritten is a monthly gathering where single and solo parents come together to grieve honestly, parent fiercely, and reclaim authorship of their own story. Here, you don't have to choose between loving your child and mourning what you lost. You can do both — held by others who understand exactly what that costs.

This chapter wasn't your plan, and yet you're still the writer. Join us in creating a micro-village as we grieve what has been lost and dream into what we long for and what we are here to create. You don't have to do this alone.

When: Second Sundays | 10:00am – 12:00pm June 14 · July 12 · August 9

Where: Nalu Kava | NE Portland 🌿 Facilitated by Alyssa Rose, Grief & Trauma Counselor

Cost: $50 (Sustaining Rate); $40 (Discounted Rate)*

About Your Facilitator

Alyssa is a grief counselor, death doula, and somatic practitioner who has accompanied thousands of people through life's most profound thresholds — the losses we choose, the ones we never expected, and the ones that quietly reshape who we are. Drawing on trauma-informed care, somatic practices, ritual, and ancestral wisdom, she creates grounded, compassionate spaces where all parts of you are welcome. Alyssa believes grief is not something to move past, but something to move through — together.
